  1. You know what you don’t see that they believe in? Any of this:

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made.

Who, for us and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life; who proceedeth from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; who spake by the prophets.

And I believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

  2. “Love is love” – A vapid, idiotic redundancy.

“Black lives matter” – Not to other minorities, especially other blacks.

“Climate change is real” – Yes, that’s always true, except humans aren’t causing it.

“No human being is illegal” – Also true. Those humans are rightly known as “criminals”.

“All genders are whole, holy, and good.” – If all two genders are “whole, holy, and good”, then for what do they need religion, psychiatrists, drugs, and prisons? Being “whole, holy and good” is something you have to work out constantly and thus unacceptable to the lazily self-righteous.

“Women have agency over their bodies” – But they apparently never have any money to cover the costs of demonstrating that agency. That agency also seems to be very situational.

    1. Well actually humans are very obviously causing climate change. Mass deforestation and urban heat islands affect rain patterns significantly. If you cut down the trees and the soil erodes, all other things being equal, you will not get the rain back. Much of the research related to carbon dioxide is tenuous, especially the more hyperbolic stuff.

      1. No, it’s not tenuous. It’s just that we know far more about the atmosphere than we know about the sea. The job has been to derive hypotheses from existing collected data and test them, then go back and derive more testable hypotheses to test by collecting more data. At the scale of planetary themordynamic systems, it’s slow going. But even more:

Carbon-cycle-related climate change isn’t about the atmosphere. It’s about the sea. Lubbers have no idea how very little we actually know about the sea–earth’s largest desert.

I’ll tell you something. I’ve known nearly a dozen balls-out hard-headed oceanographers and atmospheric scientists who research global climate and planet-scale thermodynamics. Every last one of them is married (in some cases to each other), has a strongly bonded extended family, has between 3 and 6 kids and either lives on a farm (with a wicked commute or apartment near campus/agency) or has one tucked away. And the land and house(s) are big enough for 15 to 50 people. They’re also armed to the teeth. I know four who retired early after a certain recent set of happenings and live very cheaply, and self-sufficiently, on their spreads. Most pray a lot, though not always to the Mediterranean/Near Eastern gods.

  3. That smug smile…you shall know them by their fruits. Wherever these people go they invariably leave a wake of dysfunction, degeneracy and damaged lives.

    Avoid.

    1. In light of the new delivery insurance Dominoes (and the rest soon to follow surely) offers to “insure” your pizza once it is in your hands. Really? Do they have a LOT of people complaining someone ATE their pizza behind their back?

I suggest that for an extra fee, um, love donation in the offering bucket, you can insure your soul against offending the Holy Spirit for sins you are PLANNING to commit in the coming week. Sort of an absolution investment opportunity for the careful sinner.

  4. So they have openly admitted that climate change is within the realm of religion, not science.
Not a matter of knowledge, but one of faith.
How terribly amusing! How splendidly idiotic!
How magnificently oblivious to just how badly they put their foot in it. 🙂
